The Inn at Shady Pines, inspired by The Golden Girls, is owned by friends who met as real estate agents in metro Detroit. After extensive renovations, we offer 10 beautifully updated rooms with a choice of one king bed and a pull-out sofa or two queen beds, all featuring kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and smart TVs.

Very easy to find. Very clean and communication was great via text as it was no person contact.(which I love). The rates where great too. The shower was absolutely relaxing. Definitely would go back on our next adventure north

After a long day of driving during our cross-country move from Virginia to Seattle, The Inn at Shady Pines was exactly what we needed. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, clean, and peaceful — honestly one of the best overnight stops we’ve had on this trip. We absolutely loved being able to park directly in front of our room, which made unloading the car so much easier after hours on the road. Traveling with a dog can sometimes be stressful, but their pet-friendly setup was a huge bonus and made us feel so welcome. The property itself has such a cozy, quiet vibe, and you can tell the owners really care about the experience. If you’re passing through Saint Ignace and need a relaxing place to recharge, I can’t recommend this spot enough. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Took my parents to the UP for the first time and they loved their room! Bed was extremely comfortable, everything was super well cleaned, and the location of the motel is perfect for people wanting to go to Mackinaw Island and come back on the same day. I’ll stay here again in a heart beat.
